British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos announced on Wednesday evening. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on December 29th, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his valued colleagues.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The boxer had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to leave and heal privately.
“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.
Remembering the Victims
The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and deeply emotional over the loss of his two trusted companions.”
His release from the hospital follows the global fight fans offered condolences for the champion in the following the heartbreaking incident.
