Kansas City Chiefs State They Are Aware of Domestic Violence Allegations Connected to Player Rashee Rice
The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement Wednesday night stating they are aware of claims of abuse made public in online accounts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver the athlete and had been in communication with the league office.
The team omitted the name of Rice by name in their announcement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.

The woman, who also did not mention Rice directly, posted a set of images on Instagram that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. She stated the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and it is known she has two children with Rice, whom the Chiefs drafted in the second round.
Police Reports Currently Not on File
No police reports were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.
Rice's Recent Off-Field Troubles
Rice missed the initial part of this season due to an NFL suspension for his role in causing a crash on a Dallas highway that resulted in multiple people hurt. He was given a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to felony charges.
Statistically, he concluded the season with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs finished with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a ten-year span.
