Tottenham Boss Thomas Frank Calls Vicario Booers 'Not True Genuine Fans'
The Cottagers Begin Powerfully to Defeat Spurs and Increase Pressure on the Manager
Spurs supporters who jeered goalkeeper Vicario were told later "those individuals cannot be real Tottenham supporters" by manager Thomas Frank.
Spurs conceded two goals in the opening six minutes to fall 2-1 to their opponents, registering their 10th top-flight at home loss of 2025.
However the primary topic of discussion was the visitors' second score when Vicario lost the ball well beyond his area.
The goalkeeper ventured out to handle a long ball and took the ball near the sideline.
But, rather than kicking it into touch, the Italian spun and tried to clear away, but lost his footing as the ball skimmed off Wilson and was controlled by King.
King passed the ball off to Welsh midfield player Wilson, who bent a shot into the net from the touchline recorded at thirty-six point six yards.
Moments afterwards when the ball went to the keeper again, some Tottenham fans jeered him.
The team were jeered off at half-time, with the club 2-0 behind, and once more at full-time.
A particular of those booing sessions really angered the manager.
"I heard a few of our fans apparently booed the situation and booed following, which, in my view is totally unjustifiable," the Danish manager stated about the supporters' reaction to his goalkeeper.
"Those individuals can't be true Spurs fans that act that way. Alright booing after the match, fine, but when we are in play, we are supporting one another, we are behind each other going forward."
Tete had handed Fulham a fourth-minute lead before Wilson's goal – with Mohammed Kudus netting for Tottenham in an better second-half performance.
Ex- top-flight keeper Hart stated that the next score was "totally avoidable".
"I do appreciate the supporters' frustration," the ex-keeper added. "I am aware the part the keeper is performing. He is a excellent squad member, he's a real figure in the locker room but in the end you are going to be assessed by your decisions.
"The keeper was deeply implicated in what ended up to be the winning goal."
'It's Part of Football, I Can Handle It'
Frank Stood Up For His Goalkeeper Vicario Following the Match
Italy national team Vicario is in his third campaign with Spurs.
The 29-year-old said following the match that he had to take the criticism.
"That goal was a error of mine, I take accountability for it," he said.
"My aim was to clear the ball far and I just struck the ball in a bad manner. It was an more difficult challenge to overcome."
He said being booed "is part of the game".
"I am mature, how can I respond?" he continued. "We can't be affected by the circumstances in the crowd. The fans have the entitlement to do what they think.
"It is on the team to remain increasingly composed, to focus on our own performance. We are lacking in composure and calmness to overturn results. Today is a poor defeat and it is tough to take."
'It Shocked Me Nobody Returned to the Goal Line'
In spite of Vicario's error, it was far from an simple score for Wilson to score.
Actually it was the next longest-range top division score of the campaign – after Adams' forty-three point three yard strike for the Cherries against the Black Cats, which interestingly also came on the same day.
Wilson stated he was "somewhat surprised" that he still had an open goal to aim for.
10 seconds elapsed between Vicario exiting of his box and the midfielder striking – which was five seconds following the kick.
"It seemed to me like the goalkeeper was out of the area for ages," Wilson said.
"It amazed me none of the back four went back to the line. When none of them defended the goal, my eyes sparked a bit.
"[Destiny] Udogie fell too, which allowed me a bit of additional opportunity. After that it was all about trying to achieve the correct contact and place it on target. I felt a positive sense, as soon as it came off my boot, that it was heading in."
'During in a Bad Spell, Everything Appears to Work Against You'
Jeering While We Are Still Playing Is Completely Unjustifiable - the Manager
While the keeper's error dominated headlines, this was an all-round bad performance for Tottenham to continue their home woes.
This was their 10th home defeat of the year in the Premier League, a shared club record matching nineteen ninety-four and 2003.
The side still have home games against the manager's old side the Bees and champions the Reds to play before the end of the year.
Only one of those victories have occurred since the manager took over from his predecessor in the summer.
"If you are behind 2-0 after six minutes, there is a mountain to climb," stated the boss.
"During in a bad spell, everything appears to work against you as well – the first was a redirected attempt, the next is a error from the keeper.
"This result leaves us in a place where we have suffered an additional match. Each fixture has a single narrative, today we lost in the early stages.
"We just need to continue striving. The second half was much better and with luck something we can use to learn."
Tottenham have been defeated in 4 straight at home London derbies for the initial time in the Premier League.
And they are averaging 9.5 attempts and three point two shots on target per game in the Premier League – their poorest rates on file in a one season (since at least the 2003-04 season).
Former Fulham midfield player Murphy commented that the manager has to ride the storm.
"He must accept the stick," Murphy said. "He's accepted a prestigious job at a huge team with massive anticipation. There is pressure and responsibility that comes with that.
"The performances at their stadium have been disappointing and they have to get better {quickly|
